With my No. 2 Gunning Etching printing press at my Cornish studio
As a photographer from an early age beginning with a Box Brownie I progressed through many analogue cameras, I spent many years in my darkroom progressing up to DSLR photography, ultimately achieving my Associateship with the The Royal Photographic Society in 2011. I then became interested in other printmaking art forms learning how to combine my photographic imagery onto Photopolymer etching plates from the South-West’s legendary John Howard Studio. I print these plates individually from my Gunning no.2 etching press from my studio.
I use many forms of printmaking techniques for whatever the subject matter may inspire. I also produce cyanotype prints with my imagery, which originated in the 1840’s being one of the first non-silver technologies used to create photographic cyan blue prints.
As a Photo-Artist and printmaker living in West Cornwall, much of my inspiration is taken from the wild Celtic landscape that I have loved and lived in for most of my life. The coast, the sea and the moors, isolated places attract me the most where I can study and capture our natural world.
I have been a member of LIZARD ART collective at Lizard Art Stableyard Gallery, situated in the historic Trelowarren Estate, Mawgan-in-Meneage, Helston, Cornwall TR12 6AF where my latest work can be viewed and purchased for three shows a year.
My work has been exhibited in London (Royal Albert Hall), Vienna, New Mexico, Bonn, Cologne,Nagoya Japan, Connecticut, Toronto.
I am also represented by photographic agencies ARCANGEL & ALAMY
